As Nigeria’s clean energy sector moves from advocacy to large-scale deployment, the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) joined key stakeholders at the Lagos Solar Fair 2025 to promote energy access, investment, and innovation in renewable energy. Held on October 9, 2025, the fair was organized in partnership with the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN), the SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, and PIND.
The event, themed “Connecting Markets, Catalyzing Deployment,” is part of the Nigeria Solar Marketplace and funded by the Government of the Netherlands. It brought together over 500 participants from across the energy sector, shifting the focus from raising awareness to fostering actionable business engagement.
Driving Clean Energy Linkages and Investment
The Lagos Solar Fair 2025 provided a collaborative platform for business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, exhibitions, and live demonstrations that showcased cutting-edge solar technologies, financing models, and productive-use applications. The fair focused on structured business engagement, creating a dynamic space for developers, financiers, and corporations to connect and unlock new opportunities for solar deployment across Nigeria.
For PIND, attending the fair provided a platform to highlight its Access to Energy programs, which connect clean energy access with livelihoods, business growth, and inclusive market development in the Niger Delta. Through the Solar Match sessions, participants engaged in rotational networking rounds that facilitated introductions between developers, investors, and end-users.
Showcasing Niger Delta Innovation and Impact
PIND demonstrated the significant progress it has made over the past 15 years in expanding access to clean energy across the Niger Delta. Through its innovative energy models, including solar cabins, solar refrigeration systems, and mini-grids, PIND has continued to empower smallholder farmers, fishing communities, healthcare facilities, and households in last-mile and hard-to-reach coastal areas.
The fair also provided PIND with an opportunity to engage, through its special purpose vehicle, Continuum Capital (CC), to promote investment sustainability and long-term financing for renewable energy enterprises. These interactions are bridging visibility and investment gaps, positioning the region as a growing hub for inclusive clean energy innovation and enterprise development.
Powering the Niger Delta’s Energy Future
PIND’s engagement at the Lagos Solar Fair 2025 reflects its commitment to inclusive, market-driven development in the Niger Delta. By linking local entrepreneurs to national and international investors, PIND continues to expand access to clean, reliable, and sustainable energy, unlocking opportunities for growth and shared prosperity.
As energy access becomes central to equitable development, PIND remains steadfast in ensuring that no community is left behind in Nigeria’s clean energy transition, empowering people, powering enterprises, and powering the future.
